About the event

The management school is happy to share information about the event "Starting Startups - in Japan for Foreign Nationals 101."

The event will occur in the APU campus, J building, from 8:45 am to 3:45 pm on July 17th (following Monday!). Detail schedule here.

During the event, you can join various spaces to learn about starting startups in Japan from our guest Tanaka Miho and Sara Dolootbekova. Tanaka san is CEO, an entrepreneur who works with Startup City Sapporo helping the local government solidify its entrepreneurial ecosystem. What she does for a living is to support foreign nationals establishing their businesses in Japan.

Sara Dolootbekova, GSM alumi and CMO of BeARTWORLD, a startup looking to establish a Japanese Art Brand on the blockchain by combining real artworks with their corresponding Non-Fungible Tokens (NFTs).

The program for July 17th is the following:

  • 8:45 am to 9:45 am. Talk with students (Room J202):  If you are interested or have questions about doing business in Japan, this is an excellent opportunity.

  • 10:00 am to 12:00 pm. One-on-one meetings for students with a specific business idea. 30 minutes per meeting. (Three free slots remain) - Face to face. (J building meeting room 2, in front of the Olive Cafe)

  • 2:00 -3:30 pm. Talk Starting Startups: Tanaka Miho and Sara Dolootbekova (CEO APU GSM alumni) will share their experiences and knowledge about starting a startup in Japan. This event is free, open to everyone (students, faculty, and staff), and will feature      English to Japanese real-time interpretation in Zoom.      (https://weareapu.zoom.us/j/8797302419 - Passcode: EkZfD9)

*If you are interested in the one-on-one meetings: there are only three open slots, you need to have a concrete business ide and prepare a maximum 10-minute presentation about your business idea and what you would like to ask Tanaka san.

Send it the presentation to ru21014d@apu.ac.jp for review and approval. First come, first served.
